Sorry it's taking so long to get things going again. But my wife and I have been trying to figure out how we are gonna make some changes to the blog and make time to do it all. In the last month, we have purchased an Xbox 360 and a PSP. So we now have all 3 main consoles and the handhelds that are available. So over the next few weeks, you are going to see some changes to the blog visually. It's not going to be just Nintendo stuff that we review anymore. You are going to see a little bit of everything played and reviewed by us.
So stay tuned, we should have things up and running again in a week or so!

We're not in Kansas anymore
We were planning on starting everything back up here on the blog, but we were affected by the storms that came through the east a couple weeks ago. We were very lucky and only lost our power(10 days) and had some trees down in our town. Some places just a few miles away were completely obliterated by tornado's.
The internet/cable/phone still hasn't been hooked back up yet. We just got our new telephone poles and power a few days ago. We're not exactly sure when we will have our internet again, but it shouldn't be much longer.
As soon as that happens, expect to see us back up and running.
Many thanks to Jacob for stopping by and letting us use his Verizon wireless connect hub! Without him, I wouldn't be posting this! THANKS!

Sorry everyone..
.. but we just can't keep the blog going at the moment. There is way too many personal problems going on right now for us to be able to continue. We do plan on starting back sometime down the road, but I really can't tell you when that will be. I figured it's best for me to just let you guys know something instead of leaving you hanging for no telling how long. Hopefully we can solve the problems quick and efficiently.
If you are a follower and would like to know when things start back up, just email us at mylittlegamerblog@gmail.com
We will send out emails to everyone when things get going again

The tale of the two 3DSes
First off, I want to thank Gamesplash.net for hooking us up with a brand spankin' new 3DS, Pilotwings, Case, and a very cool beanie! Without them, this wouldn't be near as cool of a story. For those who don't know, I filmed Daemion smashing our DS to show Gamsplash how bad we wanted to win a 3DS. You can see the original story we posted about it HERE.
Just so you know..
Had to leave out yesterday to go help a friend, so that's why everything came to a halt. I'm working on a story right now to post later today. I'll start on the News when I finish it.
You should see some changes to the blog later today if I have the chance to do it.

We finally have a running pc again..
Took most of the day yesterday, but we finally did it. Many thanks to my good friend Jacob! Without him, I wouldn't be typing this right now. He was even able to fix the one that I thought had turned into a giant paperweight.
I'm gonna take the day to get everything back the way it should be on this pc. I should be able to start up the News/BlogInfo first thing in the morning. I can't wait to tell you guys the story of the week we've had. It's went from one extreme to another and back again. Here's a hint.... I'm gonna call it, "the tale of the two 3DS's".
See you guys tomorrow!

You guys are not gonna believe what i found today
Sorry for the lack of posting, but friend called earlier to tell me he had a rental property that needed to be cleaned out so he could get some new people in it. I was hesitant to go because of the bad earache I have. Until he said, "well, there is something here you might be interested in. It's something Nintendo". So I quickly told him I'd be there in a second and left right away without anymore questions.
When I arrived, I asked him where it was while he was in the middle of telling me what he wanted done lol. So he quickly took me to it..... and there it was, a Sharp TV with a Nintendo built into it! I had only read about these things, and from what I'd gathered, they were super rare. I then quickly cleaned everything up so I could get it home and test it out.
When I got home and got a good look, I started to think that it might not work. It was completely covered in dust and gunk, and it had been sitting in a garage for no telling how long. Most stuff that looks like that usually don't work at all. I figured it was at least worth it to try. So I started cleaning.
After spending about an hour cleaning, it actually started to look good. It has some cosmetic damage, like the power button is missing, and the volume/channel buttons are too, but the contacts were still there. So I plugged it in to see what happened, and to my amazement, the TV powered up! All the buttons even worked!. Then I tried the separate power button for the NES system, it made the TV flicker just like a NES does when it needs a cart. I said to myself, "could this thing actually work, did I just find a working rarity?".
The only real way to know was to go get a working NES cart and controller. So I called up a friend of mine at a gamestore to see if he had a cheap cart and controller I could buy from him. He said they could hook me up with both for around $10 bucks. So I drove down there and back to get them as quick as I could. When I got back I threw the cart in it and pressed the power, then BAM, it came on! I'm just so excited right now, I really can't believe something like this just fell into my lap.
Below are a few pics of the unit before I cleaned it up real good. Have any of you guys ever heard of one of these? Have you ever seen one?
Again, sorry everything didn't get posted. At least you now know why. I'm feeling a little better, so everything should be back to normal tomorrow. Have a good night everyone!

gonna start back up later today..
As of right now, I have a really bad ear ache. I'm hoping it will go away by the time Daemion gets home so we can finish the review, monthly oldschool favorite and the MarioKart TT. I would post some News, but I just can't stay focused on anything because of the pain.
If it doesn't go away by later today, my wife Holly said she will take over. This means she might end up writing the monthly oldschool favorite and finish the review. Please take it easy on her!
Sorry for the problems yet again. This just isn't our week. It's been one thing after another. At least we had some fun yesterday, and I was also able to get a few computers that need some work. Hopefully I can get one working computer out of them so we can have a PC near the Wii for video capture.
If anyone has any experience with video capture on linux, please let me know. Any help would be much appreciated.

Some of you just might call us crazy, but...
we totally smashed our DS! Some of you may remember a contest I told you about that we entered to try and win a 3DS. Well, they said you can enter more than once, so we decided to try one more time. If this doesn't say how bad we want a 3DS, I don't know what will!
WARNING: This may be painful to watch!
I got this DS the other day for this exact purpose. Traded a few games from my personal collection to get it. So I'm really hoping this is what it takes to win! Otherwise it's gonna be christmas before we get to play anymore two player DS games! doh!

Latest Gaming Purchases
We picked up most of these over the last week through some trade. We let go Mario Party 7, Kirby Air Ride and Cars DS. If you can't see exactly what these are in the pic, they are Yoshi Island DS, Mario Party DS, Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Mario 64 DS and De Blob Wii. I'm thinking these DS games are gonna keep us busy for quite some time. We also got De Blob so we could go through it before getting the second one.

Here we go!
I'm about to start posting up some News in a few minutes. We should have the "Monthly Old School Favorite" and Daemion's "Mario Kart Tournament Time" up before the day is over. I'm gonna try and get the Review ready, but I'm not sure if we will be able to pull it off before the nights end because I have 3 or 4 days worth of News to get posted up first. We'll just have to see.
We also got some new games in the last few days through some trading. I'll post those up sometime in a few hours, just want to get some News out of the way first.

What a night
Last night while we was writing up the Epic Mickey Review, a huge thunderstorm rolled in and we had to shut down the PC. We never lost power, but I think it's better to be safe than sorry.
There is trees down all over the place. So I'm about to head outside to start the cleanup. When I get back in, I'll try and catch up on the news before Daemion gets home today. We should have the Review up sometime later today.

What's your favorite Old-School games?
I know this is a tough one, so pick your favorite 3. They can be from any console/handheld platform prior to this generation.
My favorite classic games are Castlevania 4(SNES), Super Mario Bros.(N64), and The Legend of Zelda: OOT(N64).
Daemion's favorites are Super Mario Bros.(N64), Super Smash Bros.(N64), and Yoshi's Story(N64).

Just so you know
For most of the day I will be adding "labels" to all the previous post here on the blog. I really wish I had seen this option before, but least I figured it out before we got any further.
Some of you may have also noticed that I was finally able to add the Facebook Widget to the left side of the blog. Many thanks to the people who clicked the "like" button on our new Facebook page to make it possible!
Starting tomorrow, I will be posting up as much Nintendo News as I can find. We should also have the Epic Mickey review up any day now. I think we are almost all the way through it. It has proved to be very difficult to do without a Guide of some sorts. Plus Daemion only gets 1 hour of game time per day during the week, so it can be hard to go through a game like this quickly.
Hope you all enjoy the changes that we have made to the blog over the last few days. We are trying to make things a little easier for everyone to navigate. Have a good day everyone!
UPDATE: Almost done labeling everything for the month of March.. I'm gonna take a break for a little while.. I have a feeling that I'll be labeling stuff in my sleep tonight!

3DS Impressions by My little Gamer
As you can see in the pics, Pilotwings was the game being demoed. Daemion kept saying the whole time, "Aw man, this is awesome.. this is just awesome". He played for around 15 minutes to see if he felt dizzy or got any eyestrain, but he never did at all. After he played for a bit, he looked at me and said I had to try it. So I grabbed it and messed with the slider to find what worked best for me. I only had to move it slightly above the off position and I got the full 3D effect without any blurring. I was very skeptical about how good the 3D worked, but after trying it, I was blown away at how good it actually looked. The graphics were also very smooth and the depth is just insane. I was also concerned about the placement of the D-Pad, but after fiddling with it a bit I found out that it's pretty comfortable and doesn't feel like it would give my thumb any strain at all. The slide pad also felt nice and was very responsive while playing Pilotwings.
Overall I think the 3DS is an amazing piece of machinery. Just the Demo alone gave me enough reason to warrant a purchase. Daemion and I can't wait to finally get our hands on one some day soon. Hopefully it will be sooner than later. So, when we were leaving the store I asked Daemion what he would score(1-10scale) the 3D and graphics based just on the Demo he played. He instantly said an 11! Personally, I can see where he got that number, I think it's fantastic too. I can't wait to try out all of the other countless features. I really do think that if Nintendo can keep getting the blockbuster titles for this thing, it will easily outsell the mighty DS. This thing is truly not a gimmick, it's the real deal. 3D with no glasses baby! Wooooo!!
Daemion: This is AWESOME!
You guys need to get one!

It's finally that time
Daemion's little brother is finally getting to be that age where he can start playing some great games. His name is Louscion(Lew-shin), and he turned 4 this past September. He has played the PooYoo's Wiiware games during the last few months and has had a blast with them. We let him try to play some Mario Kart a while back, but he didn't have much fun because he just wasn't good enough yet. This also seemed to turn him off from playing most games too. But now, he is finally starting show interest in it again. So today we gave him a wheel again and tried our best to help him with the controls. His skills have improved a good bit since his last attempt at playing. He isn't the best at racing yet, but he has found out that he absolutely loves battle mode! His favorite character is Luigi too! I'm really hoping he keeps it up, cause Daemion really wants his little brother to keep playing games right along with him. Who knows, I might have to change the name of the blog to "My little gamers".
Here's a picture I snapped of them playing Mario Kart earlier without them knowing. hehe

Daemion's Mario Kart Wii Tournament Time #3
In this Tournament you must race against
Dry Bowser @ N64 Bowser Castle.
Daemion had a real hard time with the Tournament this week. After one attempt, he was done playing. I think overall he got a good time. It was also a really close race in the end. He finally passed Dry Bowser in the last turn by hitting him with a green shell.
It was a great ending for a long and grueling race.
Good job buddy!

Finally!
We finally got our computer running again.. One of our ram chips went out and made everything mess up. It's not running great, but it does work now. Hopefully we will be able to get another ram chip soon to help it run better. Until then, we won't be posting up much of anything because of how long it takes. Plus it sometimes hangs up and has to be restarted. Grrr.
I will be posting up Daemion's Mario Kart time and a great pic of him and his brother playing Mario Kart in just a few minutes. Also, since it's spring break we have been playing Epic Mickey every chance we get. So we should have the review of it up very soon! Stay tuned!
