We're not just Nintendo fans!

Ever since we started the blog, I've had a few people email asking if we played or owned any other game systems. The answer to that is yes, we do. We currently have a PS3 and Original Xbox, but don't own very many games for either one because there is so many Nintendo games that we must have first. As a matter of fact, when Daemion got home from school today he wanted to fire up the Xbox. While he was playing I ran in there with the camera and said, "smile for the blog fans!" lol.
Daemion loves all types of games on different game systems, but he has always wants to play the Nintendo more than the others.
I wouldn't play anything Sega when I was a kid, much less own one. Even if my parents offered to get me one, I still wouldn't have played it. But over time I changed my opinion on stuff like that. I finally realized that if you get stuck on one particular system, you're gonna miss out on some other great kinds of gaming elsewhere. I've owned all different kinds of game systems over the years, and I still to this day choose Nintendo over the rest. I'm also very proud to say that everyone else in my family feels the same way. My parents even still play games to this day.
You should hear some of the stories about my Dad when he had Pacman fever back in the 80's. Classic stuff! lol

As for the consoles, kind of funny, my wife asked me today, "Do you think we can get rid of some of the consoles that aren't being used, like the Xbox."

I of course said, "Nope, I have plans for it!"

BTW, what game was Daemion playing?

  2. cool, ill add you next time i hop on the ps3.

haha.. yea, it's best to just hang on to them. when all content has finally went digital, people will be searching far and wide for consoles that use physical media.. and we'll still be playing them and enjoying every second! i do plan on getting a few other consoles, but wanting new games is such a constant, it can be real hard to get one. we did recently have a ps2, but sold it and the games for money to help get the ps3.
you know, that xbox is one from the first batch that was made in Hungary(v1.0).. and its still kickin!

he was playing "Fairly odd parents".. his pawpaw gave the system and games to him for christmas.
he plays it maybe once a week.. it's mainly used as a dvd player.

Y'know, I'm the same way as Daemion! I own other systems, and I like other systems, but Nintendo just has a certain allure to me... I have owned every Nintendo system (with the exception of the Virtual Boy) that came out in America. I was probably that kid you had discussions with on the playground about whether Nintendo or Sega was superior!

  4. haha! i seen kids actually get into some big arguments at the playground over the Nintendo vs. Sega ordeal.
and in all honesty, the only thing back then that i think Sega had that Nintendo didn't was the violence(blood)in games and sonic. remember when MK came out and everyone was like, "well, the sega version has blood and guts in it", but nobody ever wanted to mention that the sega version ran like crap! as did most of the games that were multi-platform.
Nintendo's selection and quality was just more superior in my mind... though i must say, im glad i changed my tune on things like this.
there is so many games i have played on other systems that i'm really glad i didn't miss out on.
you know, even after all these years of telling myself that its ok to like other systems, i felt weird buying sonic colors for Daemion on his birthday. i still felt like i was betraying nintendo in some way lol.. but i said to myself, "thats ok, its being played on a Nintendo system, they finally won".
is it bad that i still kinda feel that way? lol

Ha ha! I have heard that Sonic Colors is a great game, but I have had a hard time convincing myself to buy it for exactly the same reason as you!

I'm afraid that I'll purchase it, begin playing, and then Mario will walk in unexpectedly, look at the screen, and scream, "HOW COULD YOU?!" :)

Aside from Nintendo systems, I think that the gaming device that gets the most lovin' in my home is a gaming PC that I built. That's where I prefer to play most of the games that require a bit more kick, graphically speaking.
