But my wife and I have been trying to figure out how we are gonna make some changes to the blog and make time to do it all. In the last month, we have purchased an Xbox 360 and a PSP. So we now have all 3 main consoles and the handhelds that are available. So over the next few weeks, you are going to see some changes to the blog visually. It's not going to be just Nintendo stuff that we review anymore. You are going to see a little bit of everything played and reviewed by us.<br />
<br />
So stay tuned, we should have things up and running again in a week or so!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2240180934263843564.post-34569815659827791992011-05-10T16:53:00.000-04:002011-05-10T16:53:35.269-04:00We're not in Kansas anymoreWe were planning on starting everything back up here on the blog, but we were affected by the storms that came through the east a couple weeks ago. We were very lucky and only lost our power(10 days) and had some trees down in our town. Some places just a few miles away were completely obliterated by tornado's.<br />
<br />
The internet/cable/phone still hasn't been hooked back up yet. We just got our new telephone poles and power a few days ago. We're not exactly sure when we will have our internet again, but it shouldn't be much longer.<br />
As soon as that happens, expect to see us back up and running.<br />
<br />
Many thanks to Jacob for stopping by and letting us use his Verizon wireless connect hub! Without him, I wouldn't be posting this! THANKS!<br />

There is way too many personal problems going on right now for us to be able to continue. We do plan on starting back sometime down the road, but I really can't tell you when that will be. I figured it's best for me to just let you guys know something instead of leaving you hanging for no telling how long. Hopefully we can solve the problems quick and efficiently.<br />

If you are a follower and would like to know when things start back up, just email us at mylittlegamerblog@gmail.com<br />
<br />
We will send out emails to everyone when things get going again<br />

</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">First off, I want to thank Gamesplash.net for hooking us up with a brand spankin' new 3DS, Pilotwings, Case, and a very cool beanie! Without them, this wouldn't be near as cool of a story. For those who don't know, I filmed Daemion smashing our DS to show Gamsplash how bad we wanted to win a 3DS. You can see the original story we posted about it <a href="http://mylittlegamer.blogspot.com/2011/04/some-of-you-just-might-call-us-crazy.html">HERE.</a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">It all started with the Nintendo TV. Some of you may remember us making a post about the Rare Nintendo TV that I found while cleaning out a rental house(original story <a href="http://mylittlegamer.blogspot.com/2011/04/you-guys-are-not-gonna-believe-what-i.html">HERE</a>). It was one of the greatest gaming finds I have ever ran across. But after doing some research on it, I found that restoring it would be next to impossible. So I decided to let it go to the first person who had something interesting to trade. So I called a few gamestores around town to ask if anyone wanted it. After a few calls, I found someone who was willing to do some trading. In the end, we got a DSlite, Red Steel 2 w/ Motion plus, and a DS game.</div><div style="text-align: left;">I'm my eyes this was a good trade, though some might say I was crazy for letting something like that go.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Now, back to the giveaway. When we first posted the video at Gamesplash, we were for sure that we were gonna win, because nobody had come close to what we had done. Well, one guy had smashed an I-phone, but he really didn't show that he did it, just a picture of the aftermath. When it came close to the end of the contest, we were counting down the hours. Then.... on the last day of the contest, someone posted a video of himself getting tazed, spayed with mace, and then snapping their DSlite in half. We just couldn't believe it! Someone had out done us by far if you ask me. The only thing that I seen in the video that I thought was kinda bad was the excessive cussing and talking about guns. Either way, Daemion and I had already accepted defeat. There was just no way we could top that.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">A few days go by, and still no update to the site, or an email. We both just knew we had lost. So, after much discussion, we decided we were gonna get a 3DS anyways. So we packed up almost all our Wii/GC/DS games, DSI, the DSlite we just got, some controllers, and then headed to GameStop. It wasn't something either one of us really wanted to do, but it was the only way to get one. We just weren't wanting to wait till Christmas to enjoy the 3DS. The demo we played really left an impression on us that we couldn't shake. After everything was said and done, we ended up getting a black 3DS and Kirby's Epic Yarn(on sale for $26). We really wished that we would have had enough to get a 3DS game, but we just didn't have enough credit and cash. That's ok though, Kirby is a fantastic game that everyone in the family now loves to play.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Then, THE VERY NEXT DAY, I checked my email and there it was, a message from the administrator at Gamesplash telling us that we had won. I just couldn't believe it. It sat there for the longest time in total amazement. Then, after gathering my composure, I quickly ran into the living room and grabbed Daemion up and screamed, "We did it buddy, we won the 3DS!". We then both proceeded to run around the house like madmen screaming we had won. But then it hit us. We both looked at each other and said, but our games, they are all gone! Why didn't we wait?! We could still have our games and a 3DS, NOOOO!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">It's kinda funny when we look back at what happened now. I really think that this will be one of those stories that we will talk about for a very long time. Would we change it if we could somehow go back? Nah. The 3DS is too cool. Not to mention, Daemion now has his very own 3DS that is his to play and take care of. Plus, this isn't the first time we lost almost all of our entire collection. Our Nintendo went out on us last year and had to be sent in for repairs. When that happened, I traded most of our collection for another system with some games to keep us busy for the 3 weeks the Nintendo was gone. Not to worry though, just like before, we will get the games again. You'd be surprised at what kinda deals you can find on games if you look hard enough. Not to mention, we have well over 100 games downloaded to our system that we have been meaning to play. So this is a chance for us to open up that back catalog we have been needing to finish. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Hope you guys enjoyed our little story about how we came to have two 3DSes. I think the lesson to be learned here is that Patience is totally a virtue... but living on the wild side can have it's benefits too. lol</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_5MOiKU4Fr4/Ta8XWevg6xI/AAAAAAAAANc/eLUYMgESIT8/s1600/our23dss.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_5MOiKU4Fr4/Ta8XWevg6xI/AAAAAAAAANc/eLUYMgESIT8/s320/our23dss.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: left;">We were gonna wait to post this later today after I put up some news, but I found out that Daemion's teacher is supposed to show the blog to his class today, so I wanted to hurry up and get this story out. I'm thinking some of his fellow students don't quite believe him when he says that we have 2 3DSes. So here's your proof guys, pictures and all. I will try put up yesterday and todays News later tonight after gametime(so this story doesn't get buried in the news). Just might have some time to squeeze in a gameplay video of Pilotwings too. See you guys later!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">Any of you guys have any crazy stories like this to share? Post em!</div><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">We would love to hear them!</div><br />

I was hesitant to go because of the bad earache I have. Until he said, "well, there is something here you might be interested in. It's something Nintendo". So I quickly told him I'd be there in a second and left right away without anymore questions.<br />
<br />
When I arrived, I asked him where it was while he was in the middle of telling me what he wanted done lol. So he quickly took me to it..... and there it was, a Sharp TV with a Nintendo built into it! I had only read about these things, and from what I'd gathered, they were super rare. I then quickly cleaned everything up so I could get it home and test it out.<br />
<br />
When I got home and got a good look, I started to think that it might not work. It was completely covered in dust and gunk, and it had been sitting in a garage for no telling how long. Most stuff that looks like that usually don't work at all. I figured it was at least worth it to try. So I started cleaning.<br />
<br />
After spending about an hour cleaning, it actually started to look good. It has some cosmetic damage, like the power button is missing, and the volume/channel buttons are too, but the contacts were still there. So I plugged it in to see what happened, and to my amazement, the TV powered up! All the buttons even worked!. Then I tried the separate power button for the NES system, it made the TV flicker just like a NES does when it needs a cart. I said to myself, "could this thing actually work, did I just find a working rarity?".<br />
<br />
The only real way to know was to go get a working NES cart and controller. So I called up a friend of mine at a gamestore to see if he had a cheap cart and controller I could buy from him. He said they could hook me up with both for around $10 bucks. So I drove down there and back to get them as quick as I could. When I got back I threw the cart in it and pressed the power, then BAM, it came on! I'm just so excited right now, I really can't believe something like this just fell into my lap.<br />
<br />
Below are a few pics of the unit before I cleaned it up real good. Have any of you guys ever heard of one of these? Have you ever seen one?<br />
<br />
Again, sorry everything didn't get posted. At least you now know why. I'm feeling a little better, so everything should be back to normal tomorrow. Have a good night everyone!<br />

I'm hoping it will go away by the time Daemion gets home so we can finish the review, monthly oldschool favorite and the MarioKart TT. I would post some News, but I just can't stay focused on anything because of the pain.<br />
If it doesn't go away by later today, my wife Holly said she will take over. This means she might end up writing the monthly oldschool favorite and finish the review. Please take it easy on her!<br />
Sorry for the problems yet again. This just isn't our week. It's been one thing after another. At least we had some fun yesterday, and I was also able to get a few computers that need some work. Hopefully I can get one working computer out of them so we can have a PC near the Wii for video capture.<br />
If anyone has any experience with video capture on linux, please let me know. Any help would be much appreciated.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2240180934263843564.post-90865836609936633022011-04-07T17:25:00.001-04:002011-04-07T17:26:00.292-04:00Some of you just might call us crazy, but...we totally smashed our DS! Some of you may remember a contest I told you about that we entered to try and win a 3DS. Well, they said you can enter more than once, so we decided to try one more time. If this doesn't say how bad we want a 3DS, I don't know what will!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">WARNING: This may be painful to watch!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="330" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-6msXlKhM6c?rel=0" title="YouTube video player" width="400"></iframe><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">I got this DS the other day for this exact purpose. Traded a few games from my personal collection to get it. So I'm really hoping this is what it takes to win! Otherwise it's gonna be christmas before we get to play anymore two player DS games! doh!</div><b><br />

</div>Burlingame, CA., April 7, 2011 - Natsume Inc., a worldwide developer and publisher of family-oriented video games, announced today that Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns is coming to North America, and will be released simultaneously on both the Nintendo DS and the 3DS.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
"We're extremely excited to be bringing The Tale of Two Towns to these two great platforms," said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO at Natsume. "We wanted to ensure that all of our loyal Harvest Moon fans would have a chance to play this game. No matter which version they pick up, they're sure to love the great new cast of characters, the fun festivals, and the exciting new gameplay mechanics."<br />
<br />
Konohana and Bluebell villages were once the friendliest of neighbors. Then a huge dispute erupted between them.over FOOD! Both towns were certain that their cooking was the best in the world. This feud has transformed these happy neighbors into bitter rivals.<br />
<br />
As a new farmer to the area, players choose which village to live in. Will it be Eastern-styled Konohana with its abundant fields of crops, or the animal-loving, European-styled Bluebell? Players will pick a home, build a thriving farm, and compete in a huge variety of festivals. If they develop their skills enough, and they might even find a way to bring these two towns together once again!<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Details: Ubisoft announced today that they will be releasing Zoo Mania this summer, the first zoo simulation game on the Nintendo 3DS. Zoo Mania, developed by Marvelous Entertainment and published by Ubisoft, will offer players a remarkably fun and realistic zoo management experience, thanks to the capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS.</div><a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Players will strive to build a world-class zoo destination by choosing their animals, building their habitats and training their animals to attract more guests to their park. Players can watch and virtually touch the animals as they practically jump off the screen, showing off their personality and skills. Plus, with more than 100 creatures, each with their own realistic 3D effects, movements and noises, Zoo Mania offers more than any other handheld zoo simulation game.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">As players progress in the game, they unlock more and more realistically rendered 3D animals to collect and discover. The rarer the animal, the more traffic the zoo will receive. Additionally, players can use the Nintendo 3DS gyro sensor to capture their animals’ talents as if the handheld were a video camera. The better shots the player captures, the more positive feedback they will get from their audience and the more successful their zoo will become.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
